Notarised Translations
To notarise a translation a sworn translator shall certify a translation under his/her signature and a Public Notary shall certify the sworn translator's signature on the translation. A sworn translator bears full criminal responsibility for deliberately false and/or incorrect translation according to Articles 300 and 302 of the Criminal Law of the Republic of Latvia.
- certification attached to the original document: translation is thread bound (sewn) to the original document
- certification attached to the copy: there is a photocopy taken of the original document to which the translation into the relevant language by certified translator is bound; the photocopy with the translation shall be approved by a Public Notary only upon presentation of the original document
- certification of translation accuracy by the agency seal: if a notarised translation is not necessary or it is impossible to notarise a translation due to any reason – the original/copy and translation are sewn together, and the accuracy of the translation is certified by the signature of the sworn translator and the seal of our agency
